Dearest Loyal Patients of JR Howard Dental,

Dr John Howard has been serving our Brisbane community for over 44years and has recently decided to slowly transition out of dentistry and enjoy retirement. This has been a decision in making for several years before feeling the time is right having found Dr Zohal, who will confidently provide the same continuity and philosophy of care Dr John has been doing so for many decades.

Zohal is a young Dentist with several years of experience, who is skilled in many aspects of dentistry and is also very keen to keep learning and updating her skills. Understandably, J.R. Howard Dental, is very much a personal name and has since joined and will be known as Significant Smiles, a clinic dedicated to deliver and meet all your Comprehensive dental and Cosmetic needs. Same familiar location, Same number, just gradually a new name to allow Dr John to reuse his personal name for future endeavours.

Dr Howards legacy will forever be at the core of all we do and as we move forward to delivering same lasting and gentle care. You will be seeing Dr John and Rosemary’s friendly faces visiting our clinic and in our local community.

It is my absolute pleasure and delight to be bestowed with the trust and respect to carry Dr John’s legacy and look after our loyal patients.

Over the years,  it has become clear I don’t practice dentistry to take care of teeth, but to take care of people. It is incredible how teeth are the gateway to peoples’ health, emotions and their confidence. Teeth to some – it signifies ability to chew and enjoy their favourite foods, to others its their vulnerabilities and pain points. While a simple transformations and refining of their smile, awakens their self love, boosts confidence, and that which was once a weakness becomes their strength and their favourite feature about themselves.

My patients are my source of joy, they open to me, put all their guards down, bestow their trust in my skills and together we go through a journey of health and aesthetics. This special relationship makes my work far more meaningful.

No two individuals or journeys are ever the same.  May it be addressing long standing chronic pain due to past traumatic dental experiences and bringing them into a state of comfort, early detection of oral cancer during our screening session or simply addressing concerns of bad breath that causes embarrassment in social circles, every single concern is taken seriously and treatment is personalised.

 I have achieved my Dental Degree from Griffith University following graduating with Honours in Biomedical Science through University of Queensland. Always being a local I have subsequently worked in private clinics across Brisbane from Baldhills, Carina, Eight Mile Planes, Kallangur, Toombul and Wavel Heights. It felt like the perfect time to start my journey of providing personalised care to my patients in Brisbane CBD, a place home and central to many of my patients.
